Our Age Groups

Sunshine Nursery offers a range of activities and experiences for children in each age group, following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. Here’s a brief overview of what Sunshine Nursery offers for children in each age group:

45 days – less than 1 year

Sensory play: Engaging activities that stimulate the senses, such as exploring different textures, colors, and sounds.

– Tummy time: Encouraging babies to develop their motor skills and strengthen their muscles through supervised tummy time.

– Communication and language development: Encouraging babies to babble, interact with others, and respond to simple sounds and gestures.

– Personal, social, and emotional development: Providing a nurturing environment where babies feel secure, loved, and cared for.

1 year – less than two years

– Messy play: Offering opportunities for children to explore various materials and textures through activities like finger painting, sand play, and water play.

– Physical development: Promoting gross motor skills through activities like climbing, crawling, and playing with balls.

– Language and communication: Encouraging children to engage in conversations, use simple words and phrases, and express their needs and wants.

– Social interaction: Providing opportunities for children to interact with their peers, share toys, take turns, and develop basic social skills.

2 years – less than three years

– Role play: Creating pretend play areas where children can engage in imaginative play, dress up, and explore different roles.

– Early literacy and numeracy: Introducing children to letters, numbers, and basic concepts through games, stories, and playful activities.
